A rebate and interest free loan option is available for homeowners with existing homes, homes under construction and rental properties
SOLAR REBATE
Eligible homeowners can access a Rebate of up to $1,400 towards the installation cost of a Solar PV System.
SOLAR ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Victorian households are eligible to receive the rebate if they meet the following criteria:
• They are the owner of an existing property or of a home under construction.
• Owners have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per year.
• They have not already received a solar battery rebate or a solar PV rebate.
• The property address has not already received a solar battery rebate or a solar PV rebate.
• It is an existing property, valued at under $3 million. or a home under construction that will be valued at under $3 million at the time of completion
• The system must be purchased from an authorised solar provider, like VR Electrical Services, and products must be on the Solar for Homes approved products list
INTEREST FREE LOAN
To further reduce the upfront cost of installing Solar, the Solar for Homes Program offers the option of an interest free loan:
• for an amount equivalent to the rebate amount - $1,400
• required to be repaid over four years or can be repaid sooner in one lump sum.
• the monthly repayment for a loan of $1,400 is $29.16.
The benefit of the interest free loan is that you can pay back the loan using the significant savings achieved by reducing power bills.
